Azalea Sao to me

Post by deepeetee »

Hi all,

My first Progression Series so please be gentle :palm:

The plant was picked up on Thursday, in a time killing exercise waiting for a plane to arrive, not too far from Newcastle Airport.

From my limited experience i thought it might make a pretty good broom style.

Here is what it produced.
It had a really big hair cut and there is a branch at the back that im not entirely happy with that will get the chop. but for a first go i thought it was ok.

Thanks for checking it out

gday dave
the problem with sao-to-me azalias is they are evergreen and as far as i know for broom style they look at deciduous tree's
i have had sao-to-me azalia for 2 years now and not one has dropped a leaf :) . and i was also told they not good for broom :(
i have added one of mine it is 11 years old this year and never lost its leaves, and yours looks nice and healthy just keep trimmed
and fed and it should look nice all year round
cheers dean

Hey Dean,

You make a valid point, i had forgotten all about that aspect of broom style (eg. deciduous).

Oh well hopefully it makes a nice pot plant.

Thanks for the thoughts though

your welcome dave the only reason i said what i did is because with broom they use decidious so the branches can be seen as a broom
that is a thing i learnt when i posted mine so with broom they are a beautiful look but your azalia should look good with a bit of
styling check out a few web pages on the style you would like and go for that :2c:
but over all your plant looks nice
cheers dean
