Hi i collected this coton Easter last night in Sydney. i read it was OK to collect in Autumn and had my eye on this tree for a while it was about 10 feet tall before i chopped it . I was presently surprised with the nice bend and hidden 2.5 inch thick trunk base below the soil . i had a hard time cutting the tap root by stabing it with a shovel . I managed to get plenty of roots despite the dry weather in Australia. The tree was bare rooted and left over night to soak in a large water tub with a dash of seasol added . i potted it in a large terracotta pot with 75 percent damamite 25 percent bonsai soil. i will leave it to recover for at least a year but it is necessary to lift in again and cut 2 large roots coming from the new bonsai trunk and to promote stronger roots from around the base . I think this tree has a lot of potential. for bonsai . I look forward to getting some feed back on this tree hope it survives .
