Good onya Craig :tu:. Our shire was the first to ban Cats, when a new subdivision was being built on the edge of a National Park. Purchasers were required to sign a document to say they would not have cats. With the threat of heavy fines for breaking this by law. The inevitable happened and it cost the rate payers for the ensuing court case. Which they lost. That magistrate did not allow the shire to recoup the costs though. As he said to the people if you wish to keep a cat , you should move to another area. Also build a pet Avery.
IN THE LIGHT OF KNOWLEDGE ATTAINED, ACHIEVEMENT IS WITHIN SIGHT

As you know Pup I live in a eucalyptus forest and their is so much wildlife around it drives me mad that people let their cats wander around day and night, I don't blame the cats they are just doing what they are programed to do but the owners should be responsible. My neighbors trapped 25 feral cats in 6 months, imagine what they were doing to the lyrebird population.

Any cat found wandering should be put down. It's obvious the owners don't care about the welfare of the native fauna. In fact, I don't believe people should have cats unless they keep them inside 24 hours a day. That way they can clean up the mess themselves instead of foisting the problem onto other people. Cats have no place in this country.
Just my :2c: worth.
