AABC Conference 2011
Hi people,
Please satisfy my curiosity. If the next conference is in Perth, and WA has very stringent laws regarding bringing plant matter into the state, will there only be WA plants on display?

Re: AABC Conference 2011
With the AABC Conventions Glenda, it is usually the host club members that put their trees on display, so I'd say 'yes' they will be WA members trees.
I don't think you'll be short of choice though, you only need to look at the WA members photos here on Ausbonsai.

Re: AABC Conference 2011
Glenda the convention will have the usual, Bonsai, like juniper maples elms pines olives as well as some of the best natives. There will also be a demonstration of Bonseki by Japanese masters of the art.
There will also be the opportunity to buy some good material, as most states allow our trees into there's. The Programe is on the Bonsai society of WA web site.
If you are thinking of making the trip, log onto the site then log onto Virgin Blue for a discounted air fare which in turn will help, AABC.
Virgin have said if they have the right responce they are willing to give them discounts on the visiting Tutor air fares so that has to be a bonus for us.
We do look forward to you all coming together for our show.
Cheers

STOP PRESS
Rob Kempinsky announced on the IBC Forum that Min Hsuan Lo, the headliner from Taiwan, has just released his book Bonsai Journey. Apparently it is written in Chinese, but the photographs are so stunning that you don't need the text to appreciate the book. My question is: will the book be for sale at the AABC Seminar? Any chance of placing advance orders?

Re: AABC Conference 2011
Thanks for that. I haven't been doing bonsai long enough to know how national conventions did things. I will certainly look into it as I have 2 sisters there I could bunk with. Problem is getting leave from work

LOL Pup! I am a teacher, and have to leave prepared lessons for the relief teacher no matter what type of leave I take (unless it is school holidays).Pup wrote:Work on some sick leaveGlenda wrote:Thanks for that.
