Some very nice trees displayed. I particularly like the conifers, they seem to do well in Newcastle area.
How many trees were on display? Looks to be a big show.

Re: Bonsai Society of Newcastle Exhibition
G,day Penny I agree with Graeme, some very nice tree's, but is there not always a but.
I am one of those indivduals that like to see a very good display improved by the correct placement of the tree on a stand to seperate the tree from the table top.
Even if it is a bamboo mat or cork one. Also the identifying label not in front of the pot hiding the display.
The use of accents are being used more, which is very good but, there it is again. When they are placed they should be in harmony with the main display.
I noticed a lot of them where, they are what I call husband and wife.
Wife is in the kitchen and the husband is in the lounge not talking. In other words faceing away from each other instead of flowing together, or talking to each other. Some of the accents are too big for the main display.
It is some thing that I feel makes a nice exhibition a much better exhibition.
Thank you for taking the time to show us the exhibition.
Cheers

Re: Bonsai Society of Newcastle Exhibition
Hi Graeme. I think there were about 70 trees on display.
Pup, I only had time to have a quick look at the exhibition through the camera lens as it was being set up. I didn't have time to move the labels out of the way or even move the trees around. Some of the photos are a bit dark because the natural light was coming from behind. The accents may have been moved to a better position after I took the photos. I know some trees arrived after I finished but I didn't have time to take more photos or even have a good look myself. At the time I just wanted to have a record of the exhibition. Some of you will recognize quite a few PK pots that the trees are displayed in.
Penny.

Re: Bonsai Society of Newcastle Exhibition
My apologies for the bad photography.
Our exhibition made the local news on Saturday night and Ray, of course, stole the show and got the most airplay.

Re: Bonsai Society of Newcastle Exhibition
Fabulous job, Penny! I know from experience the time it costs to take, process and post those photos, and there were so many! Thanks a lot. I hope that the items which left something to be desired, as mentioned by Pup, were corrected after you finished your photographic session. I am actually a bit surprised that a club with as much experience as Newcastle should exhibit anything less than perfect. Well, anyway, it won't have bothered the TV viewers! Congrats on the exposure.

Hi guys, I visited your show this year and would like say congrats to Dave and the club.
New position for the show and was impressed.
If your show was perfect every year it would be boring, could to see u trying different things.
Overall good display, plenty of stuff to buy and informative demos good job.
