Re African Juniper Andrew and Juan

Hey guys, like I said previously, Andrew and Juan, seeing as how you are from Africa, have you guys had anything to do with the Juniperus Africana, I have a few plants propagated from cuttings and recently looked it up on the net, what a magnificent tree, do you know of any that have been done as a Bonsai or has anyone else here done the same ??

gday james :D

They look the goods to me from those pics, foliage looks like it can become tight, bark looks good, interested to see how they go as bonsai, i dont think they are to common over here so i would hold onto those ones you have! if they are still young and very pliable i would wire in some heavy twists and turns to as much as you dare, in a few years you could have a few nice shohin size naturally contorted looking yamadori style juni ;)

SHOHIN YAKUZA!!!
 taking the top half of trees of since 2005!
and growing trees for the future generations! 50+ year plans :D

Hey James,

Never seen those in South Africa. Had a look on the net and they seem to come from Algeria and Morocco. That'a a bit far for a yamadori for me!

Sorry I can't be of any help!

Cheers,

Andrew
