BB hadnt ever thought to use wire to train them along. How simple.
Ive often put some moss in a little pile just ontop of the soil as they get close which seems to do the trick.

Its also funny how on some figs it just makes the tree and on others they ruin the lines by thickening branches at the wrong spot etc.

Nice work on both trees, reckon the first one would look outstanding in a shallow white pot.
Aikido keeps me rolling; Bonsai keeps me still.

Another little trick for ariel roots is to split a straw and let the root grow down the tube until it reaches the soil. Once established simply remove the straw. Best straws to use are the ones from Golden Arches, H.J's or the ones used for the Frozen drinks as they give great air space and room for the root to grow.
