This Tree was grown from seed and planted into the garden to thicken up, over the last couple of years, it has been eaten, broken, and dug up.... Today I asked hubby to dig it out (thats the split from the bottom of the trunk) I have stuck it in a pot with the thought, oh well if it survives.....

Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines
Which one is the better bonsaist - the dog or the husband?
At least you got someone to help out with your hobby. My wife wouldn't touch my trees and my chooks, I wouldn't let them either

Always we hope someone else has the answer. Bonsai is an art of shrinking.
Nice looking tree!
Those shadows are causing havoc on your lines. Try waiting till afternoon, with the sun behind you so no shadows are seen, perhaps bring it inside to shoot?
I can see it has some nice form though still, it shall make a good bonsai with care and detail.
I love dogs!
Regards, Mitchell.
"It is one thing to shape a tree into form, but when you are able to convincingly deceive ones perception of reality, something much more is accomplished than just a simple bonsai."
"In a perfect world, we would all be giants and all plants Bonsai."
