If You Have to Use Chemicals - Remember

Post by MelaQuin »

Never mix chemicals. If you use something one day wait at least two weeks before using a different chemical.

Avoid spray drift. If you have liquidambars in your collection put them out of the way when you are spraying as they are very sensitive to all chemicals.

If you are not sure how a plant will react to a chemical, spray only one or two leaves and watch for a week or so for any ill effects.

Make sure leaves are hydrated and the soil is wet before applying chemicals.

Do not use on hot days or before or during rain.

Define "chemicals", if you could, please.

Yep. That one's a chemical. I was meaning to get back to this thread, to discuss the merits of "chemical" vs "natural" fertilisers.

We are often expected to believe something that is "natural" is automatically "good".
Azalea sap is natural but I wouldn't want to drink it.
