FERTILISERS
Hi all, I currently use Miraclegro , Seasol or whatever for feeding. I use manufacturer recommended dose every week right into Autumn. It has been suggested that I should use low or zero nitogen into Winter. Is this so ( I'm in Outer west Sydney ) and if so is this commercially available . At the moment my Lilly Pilly's and Privet are still putting on new growth , should I keep feeding through Winter ? Also, I have a new Australian Tea Tree , are these fertilisers safe , I was thinking of just using a seeweed extract or similar. Any suggestions ??

Re: FERTILISERS
General rule of thumb of mine = if the tree is growing I fertilise. If they are going to grow, I fertilise. if they aren't growing and I have fertiliser in my hand, I fertilise.
Have never worried about what, just fertilise. Probably not the best idea but my trees get whatever I have on the shelf.
As Jamie said tho' careful what you throw at the natives.

Re: FERTILISERS
Thanks Guys, appears the norm is to fertiliser most of the year, ant then some more when you feel like it . Maybe I don't fertilise enough . Also, no-one appears to worry about low or zero nitogen fertilisers in Autumn - like all the books say. That's probably just as well as I went looking for some in the local Nurseries with no luck.
