"twin trunk" trident

Labelling this tree as a twin trunk will probably cause a stir but I think with some better branching which will come in time, it should look pretty good. Plus it's far from the run of the mill trident! Ant, seeing your work on trident a bit different gave me a few ideas mate

Nice tree Jarrod. As with Ants I think the apex is a little high. I would take it back and let the top grow hard again. It is the easiest part to rebuild
I wonder why you took that nice branch on the left off? Maybe you thought it was a bit high? I reckon it could have been a good branch. I don't think it was to thick.
You can call this a twin trunk if you like but to me it makes more sense to think of them as thick branches. Like Walter has suggested even in the informal upright style when considering deciduous it makes sense to think of them all as a broom form.

G,day Jarrod, maybe you thought it could turn into a bar branch(bottom left hand) I think it will make a great twin trunk. Top right hand branch needs to come down a bit. Other than that it looks great. Nice backdrop.

Bretts, I agree, large branch is possibly a better way of discussing it. I removed the thick branch on the left as it was not in a spot that I wanted it and it opposed the "thick branch" a little too much in my mind.

Bodhi, the top may well be totally regrown, just leaving it there for now. And I love the background too, just need to get it back on the road

Thanks gents, hope I can sort it out in a few years, that would be terrific. I am waiting for another to drop it's leaves. The other one is about a year since it was at the same stage and I think the results are starting to show.

Good move Jarrod, getting away from the 'Twin trunk' thing. This tree has the 'makings' of a very nice O Moyogi. The twin was too high anyway. First branch needs refinement and the rest is just a time thing.
