Some more nice stock. How would you like to be working on stock like this all the time! It exemplifies the saying "your buying time". It just doesnt happen over night.

It's only money, ant. Everything at a nursery has a price on it.

How big is that tree, Brett? It looks like a great little specimen, with a ton of potential from all of that growth and that trunk.

Not sure yet Si, i was at a nursery yesterday that had some great Swamp cyprus with similer sized trunks but they were mostly large trunk chops, they were around $900 each! Good material though mate.

Bear in mind, Peter, those Swamp Cypress trunks were all 12 to 15 inches diameter at ground level, tapering to 4inches or so at knee level. Not your average stock plant.

Wattya mean not your average stock plant! I was just at bunnings and seen them in there specials area for $7.50 each!

No, there not something that we bonsai nuts can get our hands on every day thats for sure! The price i feel is ok too for what they are! Some of them or most of them are huge! Showing material like that in these forum environments is also good because it shows our southern friends what is available up here and we get to see what is down there and at what prices so we can compare and choose some great stock for ourselves. :D Its all good.

Some damned nice stock at Steve's nursery. I told you so, didn't I?

Jon took a photo of one of the styled Swamp Cypress there, with Peter and I standing beside it. It starts out just below my knee height with the pot about 300mm above the ground and the top of the tree is as high as I can reach, which is just over 2.4 metres. Amazing stuff! I'm sure Jon will be busy, posting photos today.
