I arrived very early Saturday morning, Chris was waiting there at the airport to pick me up. We visited another bonsai friend of ours, then off to the nursery. After being shown around and meeting all the staff, I set off to find some stock to challenge myself in the demo. I looked for material that was common in bonsai nurseries but often looked over by the enthusiast for being "too hard". I found 3 perfect candidates, but only had time to work on 2 of them. There was a crowd of around 30 people to watch the demos, all of whom enjoyed the coffee break and opportunity to look around. After a hard days "demo'ing" Chris shouted me a beer just around the corner at the local!

Next day, Chris picked me up and off we went for more bonsai stuff to do - we went to the Bonsai Society of Vic's Sale Day - Brilliant!!! You can read more about that in another thread! After a couple of hours chatting with other bonsai tragics - and spending abit of dough, off we trekked again in search of another local bonsai nursery and some lunch. Traffic held us up somewhat, and we only had time for lunch before we had to race back to the airport for the flight home. Chris was great with all the driving around - a real top bonsai mate.
Hey leigh,

How come you didn't buy that Taxodium in that small pot for me? Or is it something else?It looks HUGE and would be great stock.
