Joel's tree in Autumn colour...English Elm
Here is the English Elm that Joel will be receiving shortly. It has finally turned and will soon be on its way to the new owner via bare rooting and in the post. I have not done this before and i am sure it will be a learning curve for me yet again. I am really excited to be able to watch as Joel puts his stamp on this tree. I hope you enjoy the piccy Joel

Very nice but I had no idea it would be that big, The leaves must be huge !bodhidharma wrote:Not this tree ratio thingy going on at the moment is itkcpoole wrote:Nice Bodhi / Joel

It is 450mm h..150ish trunk, so that would make it 4.1 ratio

Re: Joel's tree in Autumn colour...English Elm
Hi Bodhi,
Thank you very much for the updated photo! I cant wait to get to work on this beauty. Absolutely stunning trunk. I will thoroughly enjoy applying the knowledge i have gained here (and the School of Bonsai) to this tree. This trunk is definitely better than any tree in my collection up till now!
I have decided that when i have accumulated enough good stock, i will also offer a tree of similar worth to somebody on this site who deserves it. I will ask them to do the same when they get to such a stage. Kinda like the movie "Pay It Forward"........ I think it should be called the "Bodhi Prize!"

Yes, i have'nt done any reduction work as yet. It has never even heard of defoliation. All i have done so far is work on the leader and some branching. I have also played with a second trunk but whether it stay's or not is Joel's decision now.kcpoole wrote:Very nice but I had no idea it would be that big, The leaves must be huge !bodhidharma wrote:Not this tree ratio thingy going on at the moment is itkcpoole wrote:Nice Bodhi / Joel
