Although we use only Tortum variety, there are several other similar species in the country.

Hi Luciano,

My son loves Brazilian Rain Trees, and there are a few growing in our region. I currently have custody of 4 seedlings about 20cm high, and he has another 2 (he is away at University, hence me looking after some of his plants). The ones we have are like your second photo with the rounded canopy and lots of branches low down (or will be when they grow). I don't think he plans to bonsai them at this stage, though. Do you have any photos of raintrees bonsaied? He particularly likes them 'natural' = just the way nature grows them.

Thanks Luciano. I will send that link to my son - he speaks some spanish, and may be able to make more sense of it than I can. Thanks for the photo.

The shapes of the limbs have a definite tropical feel. I love seeing full size trees in they natural environment
