i love the banksia, and the shape the 'little ruby' fig is taking.

yeah the pic of the banksia was taken a couple of months ago its under a bit of wiring now and is get a nice shape to it :D i lost the last one which was a bit bigger but that was a while ago when i had not that much experience with natives...but this girls thriving and has heasp of potential to becaome a great bonsai cheers

nice set of trees lowlegs. A lot of potential there. They are off to a good start.

Like the little guy surveying the uncut grass! haven't seen grass that green or high for ages.

i kept cutting it and nw it needs weekly maintenence so im trying to let it grow out to sow up growth maye i should pot up my whole back yard lol...im thinkin of putting a couple of my bonsai into grow boxes or the ground but now i might wait till next year or do you think theyre better off now?

Autumn is a good time to plant out. In Wollongong you won't be getting much frost, so you are even safer than up here on the highlands.

sweet i definatly will be planting a few in the ground and hopefully get a bit of growth out of them before winter. might start with a few small ones first try my others in grow boxes just to be safe...
but for now heres a couple of more and a more recent pic of my banksia :)

Good collection lowlegs.
Not sure about leaving wire on the banksia trunk. It looks like B serrata and it does not need anything to help it swell the trunk. You will most likely get a deep, spiralling groove that may not add as much beauty as you might think - and you won't be able to do much about it then either. I'd suggest taking the wire off and just let the tree grow. You shouldn't be unhappy with the result. But do experiment. It's one of the best ways of learning and who knows, you might just find out something the rest have missed.

not that sort of swellin jsut enough to add to the wrinkles already going up the trunk feel it could do with another... i want to leave it on just long enough to dent it but not cut in thanks for the concerne cheers mate
