If it's not a rude question who pays all the costs of hosting, domain rego etc for AusBonsai?
The reason I'm asking is that I was trying to find a 'tip jar' to put something towards running costs. If there is a donation button somewhere could you point me towards it please?
Cheers,
Ron

That would be Steven. He has been offerd financial help but won't allow it.
You can however donate prizes for contests or he is always glad with the offer to help out with the forum

It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

I would imagine you can donate $ somewhere. However I tend to get the feeling the "tip jar" is virtual and is represented by supporting other members in their quest for perfect Bonsai. Offering your experience to those less knowledgable than yourself and being active in the forums generally is "tipping" Ausbonsai. It is one thing to ask questions of the people here, but it is another thing completely, to comment / participate / perpetuate threads on the site.

Regards, Mitchell.

Re: The costs of AusBonsai
G'day Ron and thanks for your generous offer. I am flattered that you feel AusBonsai is worthy of your hard earned but would much prefer you spent it on an Aussie native and posted the progression here so we can all benefit.
As Brett has mentioned, we'd all be grateful if anyone ever wanted to donate prizes or run a competition
Regards,
Steven
Mitchell has summed it up nicely. In fact, I might even use this officially if you don't mind!?Creeping Dragon wrote:I tend to get the feeling the "tip jar" is virtual and is represented by supporting other members in their quest for perfect Bonsai. I dont know what your internet costs are like, but we have a buddy in NSW who runs a server and would probably give you 'mates rates' as well as excellent service! Just thought it might be worth a mention if it would help out.
Just ask and we will put him in touch with you.

Thanks Greth!
We have prepaid with our current hosts for another 12 months. I'll review it then and speak with your friend to see what they can offer.

Steven
