Pandorea jasminoides

Dug this pandorea last spring, its hasnt extended much but has been flowering nonstop. It has budded where i wanted down on the base section. Am a little disappointed it hasnt budded back in the middle of the long section, maybe with a haircut it might be tempted.

It took 20mins to cut thru the 2" section i did, this thing is so fibrous it just kept clogging the saw. Will be carving the front out more along the rip line & bring down the lip more at the back to blend in a bit better. There is a really nice twisted lump of roots still to be exposed when repot time comes & inclining the trunk about 20deg will help the overall image.

Open to any suggestions or ideas, esp on ways to maybe get those shoots back down the trunk further so i could shorten it.

if you stopped it from flowering you probably would of had backbudding, trees spend enormous amounts of energy to produce flowers.

i think if you cut back hard it will pop back where ya need it.

True jamie but my concern is more that there is maybe not a bud anywhere further back in on that straight section tho i would love to cut it in half. Especially when they are young they have very long internodes. Someone please correct me if i am wrong, but unless there is a node it cannot produce growth.

there will be buds lying dormant waiting to pop mate, they will definately be there.
