Interesting point Craig,
Since I joined Ausbonsai, maybe since I first read this thread, I have made a concious effort to increase my native stocks.
If you take away my figs (which are definitely not local) I will lose most of my credits.
I learned today that Kuranga native nursery in Mt Evelyn (vic) is having a sale this weekend. No bonsai but lots of options for tube stock and starters.

Regards Gerard
Q: Why are we all here?
A: Because we are not all there.

70% of my collection are natives mainly figs but since joining Ausbonsai this forum and the people here have inspired me to try other Australian species.

I keep finding that more and more of my trees are natives and I did not know  But still maybe only 20% Might have to count one day
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

I would estimate 10-15% mostly figs. But I am developing a liking for Leptospermum and having cravings for Casuarina so I would think that the percentage is on the rise.

In my collection there would be perhaps 30% natives.
Gerard, kuranga is a fantastic nursery with the most astounding array of native plants many of them great bonsai potential.
