best time to repot satsiki azalea in victoria

Post by Matthew »

hi guys i just purchased 300, 4 year old satsiki azaleas (nice and cheap) :D and was wondering when is best time to repot near wangaratta victoria? are they usually done after flowering or in early spring like the majority? they are all very crowded together in a large tray and when out will be wired for movement and left to grow on.

Hi Noah,
I usually do them late spring or early summer depending on the season. Its important to give them a bit of shade after potting as we can get some hot days at that time of year.

G'day mate! I have been repotting satsuki azaleas through March and April (as well as spring right up to mid December) for many years and never had a problem. Just be careful of keeping them too wet in new soil as the roots can rot easily! I am in Canberra.

Cheers,
Leigh.
