ok this may sound stupid!

ok this may sound stupid!

iv had this plant growing in an awkward possition (in the ground) for almost 3 years, it had 4 friends but only this one remains.... its trunk is amazinly old looking and swirly.... its been pruned many many times as it really must like where it is and grows profusely!
i highly doubt this herb is a common bonsai....
can anyone guess what it is?
(doubt i could get it out if i really wanted to...) allthough would be great in a large terra pot.....

rosemary gets used as bonsai, is it thyme?

no its not rosemary... iv heard good things about rosemary but no. i have a tiny french lavender that i was given.. i'm thinking about putting it into a grow pot, just for fun!.. not thyme either!

this little bush is not a bonsai!... but the amazing trunk has opened my mind to the possibility.. its basil!

the large 'meaty' leaves would have to be trained and manipulated.? basil as bonsai... i know its crazy.... so what :P :P

thats what i was told craig!.. basil is annual... this is a frankenstien!!! hahah

there is also a perrenial form, I have never tried it as bonsai but now i think about it i do have a coupl bushes of it in the herb garden.....
