Hi all, I have some young elm trees. For the life of me I can't seen ANY insects, bug, caterpillars, etc. But the leaves are being eaten all the time. The trees don't seem to be affected badly, just the appearance of them.
What could it be???

Tis the season for hoppers - little grasshoppers that can camoflage well and you can barely see. I have them at the moment as well - A quick spray of pyrethrum seems to keep them in check.

Re: Elm tree leaves being eaten
Thanks mate. Even if I can't see them, you think the spray will help? I use this spray for other insects, such as the little black things on the backs of my azalea leaves - damn buggers come back year after year.
But with the Elm leaves, I can't see anything there, so spraying the leaves still should be OK? I was under the impression the pyrethrum kills the insects, so it acts as a deterent as well?
