Brown Scale and Olives

Post by MelaQuin »

Was not impressed to find all but the somewhat sickly olive supporting a flock of brown scale. Me who HATES to touch bugs wiped as many of the blighters off as I could find looking over/under and around the leaves then sprayed thoroughly with Confidor and EcoOil. Also dusted the soil surface with ant dust. All of the trees are robustly healthy but I think they are a bit too crowded on the bench... which is what happens when you get 13 new trees in one week when you had ample trees on the benches before.

I have gone to the Eco Oil for safety having lost a prize olive after spraying with White Oil. If you can't get Eco Oil then Pest Oil is the best option.

13 new tree's! I thought that after the last nursery crawl you said that was it for a while.
Thanks for the tip about White Oil. Has anyone else had adverse effects from its use?
