Started an air layer back on the 17th August, first collage below (also was a little pot bound). It had since flowered above and below the layer.
Then yesterday, as I saw a few roots through the plastic, decided to separate the new layer ...
Had a fairly good distribution.. Would've liked to have cut higher up the trunk but the roots seemed to brittle to move much.

Good result.
New roots are definitely brittle so good you did not try to flatten them too much or reduce the stub. Plenty of time to do that next year when the roots are better attached.
