JPs Twisted PJ

G'day This is my twisted PJ it is a single seed grown 2011 Ficus rubiginosa, the rusty fig or Port Jackson fig (damun in the Dharug language).

It has been grown to represent the giant figs i have seen throw my life mostly PJ and Morton Bay but a few Obliqua like my favourite at Mick Ryan Park in Milton NSW.

It was cut hard at the soil line when pulled from the ground and potted up. Was expecting maybe one or two new branches to form and rise to the sun but instead ended up with about 8. I just let them grow for a while not sure on what to do with them but after some time decided to make it a twisted combined fused mess. So it looks like a few trees or cuttings placed together but is just one tree and really starting to look its part. Wanting to get some of this out there before it goes on its next restyle in October

Thanks for sharing Jason, love this tree. Great way to start a future buttress. Going to try cutting back a few of my cuttings see what happens.
What are your future changes for it in October?

Mostly a proper wire out giving branches more bends twists and bringing them down low before going out and reaching back up. Like the branches on a grand old fig growing longer and further seeking the light any place they can.

But to do this some of the upper branches are now to thick and rigid to bend with just wire near the top. So I am thinking about trying some of the fine cut and stick methods and some removal and make shohin of the others if needed.
Where as Mother Natalie that will probably end up a group discussion on its next path. This tree I want to stick to my original plan.
