Id help? Juniper???

Hey all,

I made this tree today, wind swept style. The bark is smooth, leaves are blocky, not found much in the wild I believe ... any ideas on which species? (Hehehe)

P.S Been trying to sketch some bonsai lately, thought sculpting one would be a good exercise.

Tree looks OK, hopefully in future you can encourage ramification and hey, a trunk chop should be pretty easy! I'm not sure of the pot colour though. And be careful, I think there's little, round grey bug ready to pounce on the leaves.

P.S Will look to trunk chop early next spring, feel it's too late now, no? I'm experimenting with new colours, away from the traditional browns, blues, etc. Also, that is an "ex-bug" ... now just pining for the fjords.

You are correct, on the work computer and they have that website blocked for some reason...

Just had a look on my phone, I believe it's called Juniperus Legostrata, it's bit had to do a proper ID without a close up of the foliage.

I would wire the base to get a little more movement as it comes out of the soil, but be careful because these guys are prone to breaking.

Your styling is a little "cookie cutter" for my liking - may as well be plastic!
For much more interesting growth development, introduce it to kids?
(Oh yeah....& put it outside where all bonsai belong)
