Need pot.......s?
G'day. Alaric aka Gamauji here. I am studying bonsain in Korea and planning for my Australian debut. However, I thought it would be a idea to test the waters.

Good thinking to investigate what people would be after. I think many people grow smaller to medium size trees, especially in cities there isn’t much space to have especially large trees in small back yards.
My largest pot in use is a tray 55cmx45cmx5cm for a group planting, most are a little or substantially smaller than this.

Re: Need pot.......s?
Yep, definitely agree with TimS from my personal pot needs. I have a very small area that I grow my trees in and as such I cultivate predominantly shohin... perhaps a couple slightly larger but nothing above 400mm or so in height - so small. I seem to find pots for trees that are on the cusp between shohin and slightly larger harder to find... or maybe I’m just picky and need to relax a bit. Say tree heights between 200 - 350mm.
In short, pots for the small end of bonsai are more my focus.

Excellent. I will keep that in mind. I am going to start by selling unique pots online from Korea but then also make sure to handpick a good selection and fill up a container when I go back to Australia. Keep your eyes on my website and give me a shout if you need anything!TimS wrote: ↑August 19th, 2019, 7:33 pm Good thinking to investigate what people would be after. Re: Need pot.......s?
Very little mame size pots available here, though I don’t know many people are growing true mame. Perhaps a size or so up? I tried and just couldn’t keep them alive. I got my miniature pots on a previous trip to Japan when I visited a nursery in Kyoto because there isn’t a whole lot of choice here.鸕盆栽 Gamauji Bonsai wrote: ↑August 19th, 2019, 11:27 pmThanks a lot. Re: Need pot.......s?
Thanks. Mame are very difficult to keep alive even here with high humidity. We keep ours on humidity trays.TimS wrote: ↑August 20th, 2019, 5:32 amVery little mame size pots available here, though I don’t know many people are growing true mame. Perhaps a size or so up?
