Grant
Thankyou for the comment. I Agree the tree has improved alot in the past 12 months. We will visit this again in autumn and winter to see how its travelling. Thanks again.
the top has had a few setbacks mainly with my graft breaking in a wind storm a few days after i took some wire off it due for a repot this winter. ill get some pics up if autumn good this year. it usually puts on a show. I have a new bud to become the apex but it has been slow to develop. The base keeps cracking that orange bark which is really nice
Its getting better . Im hopefully back in the bonsai area in a fortnight to finish some VERY late repotting . it has been the wettest up here for years . Since may I have measured just under 800mm which is around our annual rainfall here
finally got around to posting a picture as of today . Its getting there . Unfortunity the tree was somewhat styled like a pine with branches about parallel . It's something that I know what needs to happen to make this tree something special but reluctant to cut off years of hard work on these branches .Anyway one day I might bite the bullet and do it . Trunk is about 25cm across at base

So I was overseas recently for a few weeks and missed most of the late autumn turn but this large trident is always late so got a pic this morning . Its my second largest trident but proberly has the best bark out of all of them. The top is coming along slowly.
