Maple air layer

Is it too late to do an air layer on a maple, I am in Sydney

I'd say it would be fine. Spring is obviously the optimum time but it is only early summer and Sydney isn't going to cool down for a while so I think there is still plenty of time this growing season to get a result. Good luck with it.
