That looks like a great find Mason, I am not familiar with this species but that looks to be a magnificent tree for $60!! :o
Does this man down the coast have any more specials?! :D
Just did a quick google and the closest match to your spelling was Calodrendron, which is some form of Sth African chestnut. Don't know if thats it's genus but I'm sure you will have a better idea when you see the pics of it compared to yours.
It says it is rare :?:

Kinda,
I am supposed to be heading down there for a holiday long-weekend!
Are there any good bonsai nurseries down that way other than Cambewarra bonsai?

there is bonsai at the bay which is run by Mason Keane, a member of this site and you should be able to find the link for his website on here somewhere. I have never been to batemans bay bonsai but have heard it's quite good. You should also check out Yatte Yattah nursery near Lake Conjola. It isn't a bonsai nursery but Frank has some great trees there, some of the best i have seen. If you want to meet the man that i bought this plant off, his name is Stan and i will PM you his number. I am not sure if he still sells them but worth a try.i think thats about it down there. hope it helped!

I suspect it is actually a Clerodendrum species. Could be one of 400 or so (some are natives). Ray Nesci stocks some rather nice ones too. Can you get a good shot of the bark? It should seem similar to that of Buxus microphylla, the Japanese box, but with deeper indentations running along the trunk.
