Can you defoliate ornamental pears.

Post by Josh »

Hi everyone.
Just wondering about defoliating an ornamental pear. What effect does it have onleaf size, back budding etc. Any issues it can cause. Best time.

Thanks
Josh.

Yes you defoliate all the rosasea with good results. Just make sure the leaves (first 4 or 5) are mature and hardened.
Cut off at least the tips of all the defoliated branches too.
