Yesterday today and tomorrow dig.

Post by elljuu »

This morning I dug out this. It took over an hour to get it out. I should have given up and taken the smaller one next to it.

The plant was really tall. It had one big root and not many small ones. Which is why it was so hard to get out. I have it in a bucket with water in the shade of a beach umbrella for a bit. Should I put it in a normal pot for a bit then put it in a bonsai pot after it has grown a bit?
I will post more pics later when I go to cut it back later.

What did you use to get it out? One of those ratchet anvil loppers / pruners make light work of fairly thick roots once you have them exposed. Maybe that would have made it a bit quicker. They would also easily cut through that trunk thickness.

It was in a fairly hard to get at spot there is a wild patch of these bushes all different sizes and tightly compact I could just get my hands in and a spade to dig at it.

It's yesterday today and tomorrow. I have been letting it sit in water for a few hours then letting it drain. When if so should I start to feed it with seasol?

I just know it as "yesterday today and tomorrow" it's real name is Brunfelsia Latifolia I has 3 different colour flowers one white one pale blue and one purple/blue which appears at the same time on the bush. It's very very pretty looking.

When I was digging it up it did feel like it was yesterday today and tomorrow It took so long. I hope it bounces back after the dig It would look awesome with the flowers in spring.
