Advice to fix black pine root

Hi

Recently, I inspected the Nebari of one of my Black Pine (approx. 3-4 yrs old) and found that one side does not have any roots.
The base is around 3 cm wide. I am thinking of arch grafting 2 seedlings to it to balance the nebari.

Do you think this is the best approach or it there better ways to encourage root growth on black pine?

This little tree has many years to go before I even consider needle reduction so I am thinking what ever I do now will have many years to develop.

What do you think?

Also, other methods (e.g. toothpicks, partial removal of bark etc) does readily create roots from tridents and elms, but I find the existing dominant roots on the other side powers on and the new fine roots takes ages to thicken or eventually disappears. Any opinion or suggestions to thicken these new roots?

I am working with trees in the ground or in large grow pots.

any chance of changing the planting angle and redesigning to suit slanting or semi-cascade style?

I will post a pic this weekend to show the severity of my problem.
I am not sure if the roots on the bare side died or just wasn't there to start with.
I usually take extra care to ensure my plants have a nice radial root before going into large pots or the ground.

Maybe I missed checking this one before letting it take off.
