English elm ground grown 3 years.

Post by Sammy D »

This elm i put in the ground as a little wippy stick about 3 years ago give or take. I was so impressed with the size it put on this year i though its time i dug it up. True another year would have been better but i could not wait. Anyway here is a pic of a 4 year old english elm.

A stick in a pot is better than no stick at all. Remember even the best bonsai started as a stick.

Are you certain of the ID Sammy?
It can be hard to tell from just winter pictures but both bark and leaves look more like Chinese elm to me.
Whichever one it is it won't make much difference to how the tree grows and both like similar conditions.
