Unfortunatly that pot is not one of the best to come of the assembly line.

I am sorry to be blunt are we not here to teach. Telling some one this is that, when it is not does not help.
At $ 80-00 you have a good buy the tree is worth that, the pot is only $10-00 part of the deal.
As I said foot in mouth JMHO Pup :)
Yes, with the men, my Bonsai tree becomes a Penjing. Remove them, and it's just a Bonsai tree.

Regarding the pot, I think it's a nice pot, and while note hugely expensive as it came from Japan the postage alone to Tasmania would be more than $10... so your valuation may be geography-specific ;)

Thank you, Pup! I value your opinion, as long as your heart's in the right place, I'm happy with whatever you have to say :)

just a bit of food for thought on the pot...

is a pot worth the price you pay for it or how well it matches with your tree..??? a pot tree combo makes the whole compositition one does it not???

like i said food for thought :D

Hey Japh, have you read the maple bonsai book by Peter Adams? That book would be a good read for you.
