Hi,
It is a morning glory, the morning glory family is Concolvulaceae and all Convolvulaceae have this radially symetrical fused tube flower with flaring petal lobes with that thickened mid ray- have a look- can you see the thickened triangle in the middle of each petal?

we use to take a buds and press it cause it can shoot. that was like around 20 yrs ago.
it is grown wild in my hometown back it in malaysia.

Was it growing as a vine? because Morning Glory usually grows as a vine that covers sheds etc.
Great trunk,regardless what it is it should make a great bonsai.
