Thanks for sharing that Toni !! As a beginner I am guilty of not understanding the importance of this process and I'm sure it's appreciated by everyone.

I believe this may be a sticky already, but I still think it's worth a bump for anyone that hasn't seen it. Great read

Thanks for the bump...just bought one for $6 extremly root bound, plenty of healthy growth on it....would you recommend me cutting the root ball in 1/2 and raking out? or just leave it for a season? would i also have to trim the foliage back?
