Repotting a beech, best time

Post by Josh »

Hi guys,
I have a beech I plan on putting into a bonsai pot this year. Just wondering in Melbourne what is the best time to repot. Is it the same as normal deciduous trees just before bud swell?? It will need some root reduction when I repot as well. Thanks in advance.

Josh.

Hi Josh,
When buds start to swell is the best but since we do not get any serious frost I am happy to re-pot mine now.
(since everything seems to "bud swell", on the same day)
Q: Why are we all here?
A: Because we are not all there.

Thanks Gerard, that's along the lines that I was thinking-thanks for the confirmation.

Cheers
