cork oak

I have a large cork oak in my front garden-thought I might try an airlayer -has anyone tried --or to strike cuttings?--any success?

As far as i'm aware oaks are notoriously hard to airlayer, but not sure of the cork oak hopefully someone with more experience will be able to shed some light for you

I have struck cuttings from Cork Oak. Not a huge strike rate but I did get a few to grow roots. Can't remember what time of year

but if your conditions are good should be ok any time.
Very easy from seed if your tree has any acorns under it.

Hi Guy,
I did an air layer for one of our teachers at the School Of Bonsai, and it worked very well. They are interesting to do as the bark is so thick. This particular tree had developed quite deep cork.
