Large Pot Required
Hello..and Happy Easter...
I've been searching around local Nurseries (Melbourne) for a large pot for my upcoming large Swamp Cypress group planting and finding it difficult to get hold of one..
Any advice on where I might find a large oval around 800mm long and approx. 150mm deep. Willing to travel although it seems I might have to go interstate so I thought I'd ask here first...
cheers, Rob...

Re: Large Pot Required
Bonsaisensation has some very large pots around that size, otherwise maybe try collectors corner at gardenworld?

Re: Large Pot Required
Yes, I've been up to see Simon in Reservoir as well. . He does indeed have a great range of pots but nothing in this size....I might have to rethink the depth. .shallower pots are more available. .initially, I was concerned about going shallow as despite them looking great for forest plantings, I was a bit worried about the drying out factor for trees such as the thirsty swampies. .I've since Google searched Swampy forests and it's fairly common to have them grouped together in shallow pots or even slabs...any advice appreciated...

I stock some large pots and will check for you. I am coming down to Melbourne on Friday for the native seminar.

Re: Large Pot Required
Thanks Grant...great pots..but yeah, just a bit small for the rather large Swampies.. I do love the green one and am thinking about whatever else can go in it..I also have a mate who's putting a similar but smaller forest together and may be very keen for it. We are also planning on dropping in to the native bonsai show next weekend. I'll let you know if one of us is keen for the pot...
thanks again, cheers, Rob..

Re: Large Pot Required
If you're getting desperate, maybe give Ashley from Bonsai World on the Central Coast of NSW a call coz he has a (excuse my French) shari-tonne of pots. Check out the thread below that Hugh Grant started a while back.
Ashleys Number is 0418 409 105
Not sure if they will deliver, but a phone call wouldn't hurt.

::EDIT::
Road trip to NSW maybe?
Next time I'm up there I'll snap a few photos.
::EDIT::
Looks like the work has been done for me:

Re: Large Pot Required
G'day Jarad..well, funny you should mention Ash...I've been corresponding back and forth with him since posting on here, and yes, he has some that are just about right.
It's likely that I will end up with the perfect pot from him I reckon. Just a matter of getting hold of it. Road trip maybe...he mentions he is heading down in the near future so might be able to arrange something...
thanks for the heads up...
cheers, Rob...

Brilliant! He's a top bloke. If you're looking for more large swampies, he's got a few too.

Hi Grant,
Just wondering how much for the cream one?
Also do you have one similar in size but not as deep? I am looking for a pot for a trident forest.
Many thanks.
