English Oak
Anyone grew English Oak and know whether you can trunk chop like Maples??

Hi Allan, they can be trunk chopped though I've not done it on my shohin. Just make sure that it is well fed and healthy before chopping it.

Yep they can be treated just like any other deciduous tree, just most thinks take a little longer due to slower growth habits.
I have 2 in the ground, and 3 in Grow pots. One of which is an airlayer.
Have a search for Quercus and you willl find quite a bit of info about them

No harder as such, just they are much slower than Maples to grow, and produce much less leaves.
