Hi Guys,
This is one stubborn olive. I repotted this plant back in August 2014 and so far there is no signs of life. I have applied basic life support and advanced life support but the damn thing will not show any growth. Yes, I fed, watered, seasoled, full sun, partial shade and did everything I have been told. But still sulking. Did the bark scratch and yes it is still green underneath which tell me the heart is still working.
To my fellow expert in olive bonsai, is there anything else I need to do? Or is it a matter of waiting?
Any help much appreciated.
Jay

let it dry out a bit and this may force it to shoot new buds in a last ditch effort to survive.

Patience my dear. Have patience. My longest took me 18 months of sitting playing dead. Your post is a bit confusing. Photo perhaps?

This is a waiting game my friend. And fear not, you are not alone in this situation. I too am waiting patiently for some new buds to pop out...

Re: Is it dead or pretending to be dead
I'm beyond the 12 month mark of waiting with one particular olive stump. Problem is I dug ones from the same spot a fortnite later and they all have put on growth like crazy.... Im gonna try the suggested method of letting it dry and see if I dont have any luck with it.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I will keep it on the dry side for a while and see how it responds.
Will keep you updated.

Re: Is it dead or pretending to be dead
We really need to know the tree's history. Was it dug up recently? Has it been in a bonsai pot for 20 years? What's the story? I dig many olives, which are generally shooting like crazy only weeks after being dug. Photos please
After roughly 20 years of growing bonsai, I reckon I might just be starting to get the hang of it...
