Naked monster
defoliation has achieved good reduction in leaf size but the job gets harder each year with twice as many leaves to remove

Re: Naked monster
Nice tree! Tiger bark fig I think? Can't help but think that it would look more of a 'monster' in a pot that wasn't so wide. My eye tends to travel away from the tree's fantastic roots to the edge of the pot way over on the left.
After roughly 20 years of growing bonsai, I reckon I might just be starting to get the hang of it...

Re: Naked monster
A nice tree Gerard, a new acquisition? Lovely base. A good time to think about rounding of the canopy.

Re: Naked monster
I got the tree in Jan 2013, defoliated in Jan 2013,2014 and 2015Interesting to see the rock disappearing.bodhidharma wrote:A nice tree Gerard, a new acquisition? Lovely base. A good time to think about rounding of the canopy.
The canopy does need rounding, something I did not notice until I saw the photo. The branches will come down a little more and the first branch allowed to extend.

Re: Naked monster
That"s awesome mate, any idea of the age ??
Although a tree is a thousand Chang in height, its leaves still fall to the ground.
