Narrow-leaved ironbark air layering

Post by highskyforever »

Hello, I am a new member of this forum and only have couple years of experience as for bonsai concerns. I've got a stunning Narrow-leaved ironbark tree in our backyard. I hope if someone kindly gives me some advice: is it possible to air lay it and if not what options do i have> Thank you...

I'm not at all familiar with the species, however I would say go for it! There are plenty of how to's on airlayering and with a little practice and preparation, they aren't that difficult! Ray M has written some books with some handy information on air layering species that prove harder to root, so getting in touch with him could be an option. Otherwise like I mentioned, there are plenty of threads on this forum you can access by doing a quick search! Enjoy.

Regards,

Chris

I have not layered an ironbark but we have seen some really good results with layers on Red Gum so I reckon it would be worth a try.
Here's a link to one of Flybri's original threads about air layering Euc, camaldulensis. viewtopic.php?f=104&t=438&hilit=flybri+ ... aldulensis
