Hi Bodhi
Looks magnificent mate this is by far my favourite tree
I will update my wallpaper on I- phone again .
I have saved a lot of photos of this tree on my computer to look back and see how this tree
Develops of the years and the last 2 years is absolutely amazing I reckon this autumn
After the growing season it will be a treat.
I'll say it again if only I was a rich man mate I'd love to add this to my collection of elms !
If I win the lotto I'd drink piña colas and what it grow :fc:
Cheers

My first year of REAL Autumn colour and wanting to share. Another 5-10 years and this tree will really attract attention.

Hi Bodhi. I'm with Alpineart in thanking you and congratulating you on both the tree and the tutorial. Have you thought of going into print? Seems like you could put together a pretty impressive book. :2c:

Lots of character...and some how it reminds me of a baobab tree...
I ask lots of questions that sound like suggestions. Please remember I am a inquisitive newbie trying to figure out why You made a particular decision, in order to learn.

Thanks Neli, i am developing the tree for Winters display. Lots and lots of ramification so it knocks your socks off when it is naked. :tu:

I now have two more years of growth on this tree and it will come out of its shallow pot and into a grow pot for a few years. I now want to thicken the branching and start working the secondary and tertiary branching upwards to fill in the negative space between the branching to give it a fuller look. "CARVING"....I also want to continue its development of carving out and hollowing the trunk by opening up the front of the tree by carving. Asking the VIRT people out there please to give me some ideas for hollowing out the front. I want the tree to be really healthy for this next step hence the large pot for a while. The tree is already completely hollow and i am thinking it should maybe be hollowed out on two sides with a strip in the middle? Some photos for you to work on.

No problem TT. Good chance to bump this thread to put it out again to the "VIRT ARTIST'S" and see if i can get a hollowed out tree.

Very rough one Bodhi
I would take the carving around the knobby feature at the front if possible coming down the front if your looking for that look, that part does give it feature/character on your tree,as we know very difficult from 2d image.

As your tree stands now you have done a fantastic job, look forward to your next progression, thanks for showing..cheers
