Trimmed and wired this juniper today. What do you think?

Lots of good branches on there.

Might just be the lighting, but my eyes are drawn heavily towards the wiring on the trunk two thirds of the way up.

The top should make a nice triangle once it thickens. I'm going to struggle with that on mine. Love the pot also.

I think you need to do something about that straight section in the middle. Your wiring could be a bit neater, but heck, if it does the job, it does the job! I woulda started with a bit of raffia and a nice thick wire or two on the trunk line, and get the primary flow right, compacting the tree in height as well. From there, the branches would be wired and placed.

Cheers,

Andrew

I think Andrew is on the money about compacting the height - the tree is too tall for the trunk diameter. I also think there are too many branches there - space between the branches and foliage would be good. An overhead shot would be good - it's hard to tell how much depth there is as well. Keep going and you will be a master in no time :tu:

Yes, the wiring is very rough. I also ran out of thick wire when wiring it so I will have to get some more.

I agree with your critiques, I will work on the tree a bit more soon and try to incorporate some of the suggestions.

Thanks heaps guys.
