My Precious (Euc 1)
In training for over 10 years, this tree has struggled with my learning curve and I thought I had killed it several times, but each time it has pulled though and sometimes benefited from the rough treatment.

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Re: My Precious (Euc 1)
Thanks Boics, the species is Eucalyptus Camaldulensis, River Red Gum, just like you see growing along the Murray river where I live. They grow rough bark which then peels away to reveal a very smooth trunk like this one, and then the cycle continues.

Hi Trent,
Its good to see you have persevered with this Euc . Do you have any plans to reduce the leaf size any further.
Regards,
Peter H

Re: My Precious (Euc 1)
Hi Peter,
To answer your question, yes, to reduce leaf size I am slowly taking off the larger leaves, but do not want to rush this process and detriment the trees health as that is the most important thing. It is a slow process but well worth it in the long run.

Re: My Precious (Euc 1)
I don't know what you've done, but the branches look a lot more convincing - I like it. Would you consider opening the top/central leaf mass a bit, to spread the density a bit more evenly?
Thanks for posting,
Gavin
