Apps to manage and Track your Bonsai
Hi all,
I've just downloaded an app called "Bonsai Album".
So far I think it is very useful for managing the key tasks keeping track of your trees progression and maintenance.
I would be interested to hear if anyone uses this app or similar app to keep records of their trees?
Regards
Craig

Re: Apps to manage and Track your Bonsai
I wouldn't mind making (or using someone elses) spreadsheet just to keep track of dates when photos are taken or work done etc. When I am honest with myself though I will never have enough trees to make it necessary. I just like the thought of setting it up for and using it for fun

That one is very tidy Ken. I always err with putting too much time into database programs as you never know about future compatibility (compared to spreadsheets) but that one is simple and complete enough that I think I will give it a whirl

Hi Ken
I downloaded it last night and had a little play. Looks pretty good to me takes a bit of getting used to but once you have the hang of it it's pretty simple.
Thanks

Re: Apps to manage and Track your Bonsai
Also had a play and really liking it. Very simple and database is awesome, can change all the variables. Very flexible. One of the coolest things is being able to export a trees history and just print it off. This includes all notes, pictures etc. This will be great info if you ever have to move trees on.
For others that find this thread here is an example that I back dated and then exported. About time I took a current pic of this tree as it has changed a bit since last photo.

Knowing you can print it out seals the deal for me. I always wonder how long free software will be around, and hate to get caught into something that I end up stuck with even though it's obsolete.
Cheers, Karl

Re: Apps to manage and Track your Bonsai
Hi All,
I too am using this app "BONSAI ALBUM'....
For me its very usefull as i always have my phone with me and almost all of my photos are in my Iphone. It makes it very easy to update each tree without having to import to the computer.
Have had it for a couple of months so havnt used all the features, but so far its been very good for all updating the trees.
only downside is that makes me lazy to take proper photos with my DSLR though...hehehe
Its not for free download from the App Store you did have to purchase this, i think it was a few dollars though...

The software will always be available there as it is "open source" and not Free per se.lackhand wrote:Knowing you can print it out seals the deal for me. I always wonder how long free software will be around, and hate to get caught into something that I end up stuck with even though it's obsolete.
The worst that can hap[pen is the original creator may not support it any longer, in which anyone can take up the project and update.
The program seems to be "Feature complete" and I have not found any major issues so does not need to be maintained for bug fixing purposes.

OT2 is NOT an app, it's a program for PC's, and one I do like to use.Paul W wrote:Are you sure O T 2 is an app , does not seem to want to download on my android device, that's why I use Bonsai Collection which I find reasonably good
