newbie...

G'Day all...i have just purchased a juniper to start my self off in this hobby. i live in perth, with the summer coming i could do with some good advice...
i decided to get an established tree to start with, thought it might be easier than starting to learn with a new growth...i bought my juniper from local bunnings, it is around 55cm high and is date stamped as 14 years old...i keep it in our outdoor decking area, it has morning sun, albeit through the fly curtain...
what would be the recommended water schedule and is morning sun only better than full sun most of the day??....
i have attached a picture of my little treasure....

Hello what Bunnings store did you buy from what instruction were you given??

They need a minimum of 6 hours morning sun afternoon shade, and at the moment with the heat I recommend at least twice a day.
Saturate the substrate.

I also recomend you look at joing one of the clubs. Although they are closing this month for the year, they will both be around at the end of the month in the new year. Look up their web pages.

Lots of sun and lots of water as Pup says

Welcome and nice tree. Keep it healthy over summer by never letting it dry out. Juniper will not show distress from lack of water until 3 months later when they a re well and truly dead.
In Perth 1 dry day will do it so make sure you keep on top of it

Am also curious what bunnings you got that from? Thats pretty nice stock to work with

Follow the advice above, and you should be right I'd also reccomend joining a club as they will really help with your learning, my club run begginners courses a couple of times a year too, which are great way to learn! I've attended two myself, and loved them both
