Yeah I got a little crazy with the dremel a while back, carved a hollow where the old eye poke branch was. The edges are healing well, should look all right with time. Not sure what type of crepe it is, but pretty much all my crepes except 2 tolerate any abuse I give them. I know one of the two slow ones is a hybrid with white flowers (mildew resistant), so maybe that's why it's a bit slow. It's too skinny so I'm working on fattening it for the time being.

:tu: Well you've picked the direction to go in. it should come up well with some fertilizer and lots of tip pruning.
Patience is often a surprise.

Nice little tree there. I love the smooth bark the get when they age a little more.
A stick in a pot is better than no stick at all. Remember even the best bonsai started as a stick.

Bit sad about the branch dying but with time it should look ok. It's happily shooting again.

Repot this week. I finally found the base, it was so pot bound when I bought it it's taken two years to find where the roots actually start, as they had started growing upwards around the trunk when I bought it.
